Before I go ahead and spend any money, I wanted to get feedback on what others thought of this extension. Good, bad or indifferent...thoughts?

Right now, people are doing handregs and of course everybody wants to sell :)
But who is buying on the secondary market ? I don't see activity yet.
As with any ccTLD I would look at keywords in the local language, so you don't end up with completely worthless domains.
Also look for keywords that are bound to get a bit of traffic, while avoiding TM issues of course. NB: Colombians are used to 3rd level domains, so there may be .com.co registered but available in .co.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I won't recommend it to any clients but I did go ahead and register a nice BC geo domain.

Agreed.

How are you going to agree with that Adam when you yourself have invested in them and posted in the .co showcase thread that you would post what you acquired. Am I missing something...?

-----

The .CO extension will fall along the same line of success as the .EU. A lot of domainers "booed" the extension yet relatively speaking it has been a success. >EU accounted for 15% of all cctld sells in the 2nd quarter. My .CO domains get traffic (no trademark infringement) and a good number have good ctr and earnings so far and will pay for themselves by next month. And all the good ones are not already taken.... if you come late in any game... you have to put more effort to come out a winner.

Maybe he has good ones. Ninety nine percent of them are horrible and worthless anyways, and you will see how it plays out very soon. Adam was probably smart enough to get a few that others might want. Anyone who thinks they can dream up names now that might have value is a fool and will really embarrass themselves. I am seeing it all the time.....people with a bunch of worthless names in their signatures. The whole extentions is a joke but the more people who waste their time on it the better it is for everyone else, I guess.

There is no law against wasting money or time, so until there is, have at it and try to find a greater fool to buy these terrible names.

I think you will have a different view of things when sites go live.

I know Elliot Silver has Bahamas.co and is working on a site.

Rather than view this as a typo of .com, it should be viewed as an opportunity to get great keywords and do something with them rather than sit on them, park them, or flip them.

At least that is my plan.
