They could very well be bidding it up only to take it later - a double whammy if you will.

Any predictions on how long a C & D letter will be fired off to the new proud owner?

Considering that Microsoft has publicly announced having launched a major campaign against domains incorporating their trademarks....

Guys pls understand that 5 grand for someone might be like 5 bucks for someone else. This domain will sell for more than 10 grand, my guess 13~15.

some always assume the worst, while others are making money

And, it was you that pushed it to that price.
You did it so you could make this posting.

What an acuity (a quick and penetrating intelligence)

You knew it was a safe bet.

But in different sense than you mean - it was safe bet because for this price it would be a steal.

I'm positive that you will not continue to bid on it thru Sunday.

Well - as I said - you are such a bright person...you are wasting time here. You should be an university professor, do some research, get a Nobel prize...

Are you guys serious here?! We owned a few MSFT typos back in 1996 and the lawyers fired off letters back then. This is the EXACT name of one of their current product. So regardless of how much money someone has to spend I still don't understand how you think it's low risk and you'll just collect PPC money and they won't care...Take a look at some of the typos they are already going after.

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/features/2006/aug06/08-22domaindefense.mspx

I wouldn't be surprised if their (INHOUSE) lawyers played hardball and not only recover the name but also any PPC $ the name earns.

It's a pretty clear case of Trademark Infringement IMHO

I agree with you entirely. I would not touch with a 10 foot pole.

This is a lawsuit/UDRP/Whatever you want to call it - waiting to happen.

Rrrright and all those bidders are just idiots which happened to have a lot of cash (probably by luck - they won a lottery or something like that).

Basically, we are all infringing some trademark or another.
Knowingly or unknowingly.
Sometimes we are sure we will have no problems.
Sometimes we just risk it.

Sometimes the risk is veeeeeeery big.
(That is the case here)

PS
Plenty of people think, if the domain is free, or it is for sale, this can not be a trademark infringement.

I did not say that...I said "I" (me) would not touch it with a 10 foot pole. I cannot speak for those other people but the trouble is not worth it to me.
