if a set of keywords produced 800 clicks in Jan would those keywords in .com be worth registering and parking?

ex. keywords (X,Y,Z) therefore domain is xyz.com

these surely worth registering @ .com

5 letters or less with 200 or more OVT

1 dictionary word with 500 or more OVT

any made up word with 1000 or more OVT

2 words combo with 2000 or more OVT

3 words with 5000 or more OVT

i can guarantee a value above the reg fee in words suit these criteria

lower OVT results doesn't mean there is no value but it means you need to carefully research your desired keywords

note my criteria doesn't apply if you registered the hyphenated version

also OVT results sometimes twist words order so make sure you register domainname.com not namedomain.com

these domains as i said worth registering and reselling but no guaranteed traffic especially 3 words names

good luck in registering your names :)

thanks for the help...

I've decided i'm gonna have to just jump in and learn as i go cause if I wait around for the perfect domain I'll never get started.

An Overture result is not the only factor to consider when purchasing a domain. There are many other factors that play a major role in the domain's ultimate value. For example this weeks biggest sale, TiltPoker.com, only has a 61 Overture with extension result and it sold for $46,000. There have been domains with zero Overture results that have sold for $XX,XXX.

What do you guys think of this domain i just registered. Its
dergin.com and has 450 overture w/out extention. I was just looking through expired domains and came across it. I guess there's a playboy playmate named lisa dergin. I wasn't really sure about this one. you guys have any ideas??? If it was worth buying it

you may better post it in appraisal forum

anyway i can tell you that you did picked the wrong name

lisa dergin is a typo for lisa dergan ....

450 overture results are for the typo lisa dergin not dergin alone

if you had picked dergan.com i would have said that you are lucky

good luck next time

if you keep it parked a link may appear in google ie if someone types in dergin without ext your link may be near the top, hence traffic, i noticed some of my one word typos get pretty good billing at google, depending on how many other sites misspell dergin. as an example g i n s a n g is a misspell of ginseng
if someone types g i n s a n g in the google browser my parked site link is on top for g i n s a n g.com

good luck

The domain may still have some brandable value in it.
