Overture type-ins? Is it a good idicator?

I just regged a domain 2 weeks ago from a drop and the search result from Overture shows 40 for the name + ".com". Theoretically, the domain should get 30 - 60 type-ins per day. After moniorting the traffic for 2 weeks, it gets only 1-2 type-ins a day.

Just want to share with you that Overture may not be a good indicator of the traffic. And this result also surprised me.

That variance is surprising, but I guess you've got to expect inacuracies in any system. I've found my type-ins to be very roughly about 2/3rds of the .com results at Overture.

The opposite can also be true - I've got as typo that gets nil at Overture but constantly gets 50-70 type-ins a day. Just luck of the draw sometimes.

The overture system often has bad numbers come up, from memory at present there's a bunch of crap domain names that produce a 48 at OV.

Don't take it as gospel, expecially for values lower than 100.

Perhaps the overture results were from you checking the name or others checking the name for search engine placement during the month it dropped.
