Just ran an experiment to see just how many people search for extensions, or atleast leave a space in the full domain which would still be portional to the number of searches for each. I think it's a pretty good indication of how popular the extensions are in the public's eye. The results are most certainly US driven, but I think they're pretty interesting...

.org ... 53,969
.net ... 34,698
.us ... 6,387
.tv ... 4,194
.info ... 2,153
.biz ... 2,152

So those that have always said .org is more valuable than .net may be onto something? I was suprised to see .tv ahead of .info/.biz.
