Hello, you probably already know about the following news:
FBDNN News Election Watch:
Owner of JoeThePlumber.com is offered $800,000 USD for domain name!! -- almost throws a wrench into a web host provider's services.
Joe Wurzelberger, aka "Joe the Plumber", an average Joe from Ohio made famous recently by both Senator McCain and Senator Obama during their last debate, became so famous, that a buyer offered the owner of JoeThePlumber.com a staggering $800,000 USD for the domain name. With an official viewership tally of 56.5 million viewers, the third presidential debate prompted many to visit JoeThePlumber.com. The site received thousands of additional hits after "Joe the plumber" was mentioned more than two dozen times during the telecast. A DomainTools.com whois lookup, shows that the website was registered back in Feb. 05, 2004 by a Joe Francis of Amarillo, TX. "I was really impressed that my site didn't crash and that folks told me they had no trouble accessing it." says Joe. The site is hosted by Web.com and it's president, Jeff Stibel, was quoted as saying "Joetheplumber.com got so many hits that a couple of our support team members got whiplash from all of the activity." Yet another example of the power that a good generic domain name possesses.
