excerpt from article:

Tim Lee was a senior in college five years ago when he registered the domain name Cool.com, almost on a lark. Friends scoffed, but Lee may be getting the last laugh: He says he recently got an offer for the name worth up to $38 million.

Lee turned down what would have been a record price for a domain name, although he and his partner say they are still considering some kind of partnership with the investor, whom they would not identify. Lee says they were unable to accept the offer because by then they already had agreed to take $1 million from a venture capital firm in exchange for an undisclosed stake in their company.

Postings like this pisses me off.

#1.
The article is 9 yrs old.
The domain was registered 14 yrs. ago.
A lot has happened in the past 9 yrs.

#2.
Before posting this article, did you notice that the site is pointed towards DomainSponsor?

#3.
The domain is now owned by Elequa. And, he hasn't been active in acquiring domains for a number of years.

#4.
I don't care to do the research but the article was written doing the DotCom Boom.
And, then we went thru the DotCom Bust 2001-2003 when a lot of domains like this sold for a much lower price.

that guy is retarded for not selling, although the 30 mil in stocks is probably only worth 10 now. I wonder what the stocks were?
