Another solid GEO/Travel name sale spotted today.
If you do not know what Pamukkale is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamukkale

Very likely end-user sale and I wouldn't call it a bargain but difenetely money well spent. Thoughts?

What's sad is I've actually never heard of the place/term. And I've been to Turkey!

I think the seller had contacted a few solid end users and they have pushed the prices up a lot because I don't think the domain is worth that much. So the seller has done a great job promoting this auction.

Actually, I think the price is fair. I've been to Turkey and this is one of the most popular destinations they make tours to..

I don't know how to judge this sale because I have never been or even heard of Pamukkale, how popular of a tourist spot is it?

I am from Turkey and just wanted to give some information. Generally tourists who come to Turkey are only visiting the south region which includes Antalya, Alanya etc. Also Izmir and Cesme, Bodrum, Marmaris are popular destinations, too. I am pretty sure that those who visited Turkey above have been in Antalya :)

Pamukkale is popular with its travertines. Check the google image results below:
http://images.google.com.tr/images?hl=tr&q=pamukkale&btnG=Görsellerde+Ara&gbv=2

I just used the word "Pamukkale" and here are the results :)

Because of these travertines, Pamukkale gets lots of tourists but of course not comparable with Antalya etc.

Probably seller found an end-user (maybe a hotel or travel agency). But I must say that it is not a bad investment and not a bad domain at all.

Also I believe that Antalya, Marmaris, Bodrum, Cesme Com domains are worth more. 3 months ago Bodrum's org extension sold for 1k and I sold Cesme's org extension for $300.

Also Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) is considered today by Turkish people and many travellers the eighth wonder of the world...
