Paris Hilton as you know was recently released from jail, however Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer ordered the 26-year-old socialite to serve her full 45-day sentence. Reverend Al Sharpton previously stated that her release may have been because she was white and wealthy.

Do you really think Paris Hilton was released because of her race? That is a pretty absurd observation on Reverend Al Sharpton’s part. Look at OJ Simpson. He had money, and was African American, and was set free.

Paris was reportedly in tears sobbing on the way back to prison. She must serve 45 days, her original sentence minus time already served.

People are protesting this on their website too including Dog the Bounty Hunter saying that it's too harsh a sentence for a traffic offense.

What they fail to realize is she violated her probation and quite vagrantly and frequently violates the law period because she thinks her status makes her untouchable.

Maybe this will bring the upper class back down to Earth and make them realize EVERYONE is accountable for what they do.

Boo Hoo Hoo for Paris.

Bravo for this judge.

Hold the Sheriff in Contempt of Court for taking the law into his own hands, and perhaps he and Paris can be cell mates.

I don't mind seeing her serve some time. But the truth is, Al and company have it wrong...as they tend to do when they search for racism. Normally a 45 day sentence in LA County would result in no jail time (because of over-crowding). It is only because of her status and the public demands that she is serving any time at all.

whenever there is a crime it's always about race, as it's one of the criteria on the form that the arresting officer fills out.

though I can't believe some people are Still hating on "OJ".

in Paris's case, being white and wealthy only adds to the hype.
if it was Oprah, would the same thing happen?

had she NOT been a celeb, like Laquita from "round the way"...we would have never known if she did the crime, got time or had to pay a fine!

still, anybody who drinks and drives, and ONLY gets 45 days after being caught more than once, should be thankful.

too many lives are lost due to drunk drivers!

imo...send her silly arse back to the slammer for a few more days.

with her tired, skinny - silver - spoon - sucking - no butt having - wish she had some talent - wanna be - mixed-up - child - like mentality - so and so... etc etc

Yes, but now we will have to endure a made for TV movie along with a reality show...perhaps it will be called Paris Gets Slammed but I think there has already been a home movie of that subject.

When someone is busted more than once for drunk-driving, that is typically a serious sign of a problem. I'm pretty sure she's detoxing and that's why the breakdown. Might be alcohol, more likely alcohol in combination with something else. I think if I was going to jail, I would make sure to do my detoxing beforehand.

Actually, I have to correct myself. She wasn't drunk the second time, just driving on a suspended license apparently.

You guys do know that there is a war going on. You've heard about Darfur?
I say we all stop turning to these pseudo news channels and cut off their cash cows, since money seems to be their only agenda.

Anna Nicole, Lindsay, Paris, do you actually give a crap?

Anna Nicole, Lindsay, Paris, do you really give a crap. If you do, I just feel sorry for you.

I was thinking about starting a website. Something like "WeIgnore.com". Where you put a list of people and members commit to changing the channel any time those people come up on the news. Was thinking about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton originally, but would certainly expand it to Anna Nicole, Paris Hilton, etc.

LOL Duck. It sure would be nice to sock it to these deadbeats. Voting with our wallets would definitly do it if there were enough people involved. I think the main problem with most news stations is that they are run by big business. Of course small business could run them just as badly, but it's the greed that is causing all the nonsense.

I think it's a lucrative social movement waiting to happen. If I had the technical know-how, I would have the site up already. I could see it catching fire. Funny thing is, the news channels would probably publicize it for you.

Nope, don't give a crap. That is why I am enjoying the hell out of this news. Justice is justice served. She was driving with a revoked license, violating parole, released by someone without the authority to authorize such an action, and re-incarcerated. Celebrity or not, I do have the feeling that this would have been the course of action taken with any violator. Interestingly, California does enforce the "Three Strikes" concept.

As for Darfur, very much in tune with it and how long we, as a nation and a member of the UN Security Council, have permitted this atrocity to go on.

And I am also very well aware of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and the hundreds of millions donated to research for a cure to many third world diseases to include finding a vaccine and prevention for HIV/Aides. It is my understanding that Bill Gates will soon be stepping down and devoting 100% of his time to Philanthropy.

I am also aware that aides/HIV was so rampant in many areas of Africa that tribal leaders and "medicine men" had convinced the population that the only way to get rid of it was to have sex with Virgins. This caused a rampage through many villages and reports of children as young as two and a baby as young as 11 months old were being raped.

I am equally well aware of Bono's effort to help and heal Africa, heard a great interview on NPR this a.m., here's a link to listen to it yourself (click listen at the top of the page):

Yes, our society (american, US) makes celebrities of punks and thugs and plasticized Barbie dolls and sluts caught on tape. I do not understand and will never understand the fascination with this and how some no-talent-nothing-to-contribute-to-society-has-beens are elevated to stardom. But lets give them their own TV show and talk show! Let's do a miniseries or a reality show based on their real life! Pure bullshit.

But while I am at it, a girl at work was watching something on the internet last night that really caught my attention and I was actually quite impressed. I had never seen it or heard of it and knew it even existed as I don't tune into MTV for all the above reasons.

Good stuff!

The Andy Griffith Show of this generation?

I am also all for the WHOCARES type website. But if we contribute, then aren't we guilty?

Yeah, there is a reality series out there and it is called the real world and Paris Hilton, Anne Nicole, and Miss Spears are not part of it, IMO.

I hate paris hilton, with all the wealth she has and all the money and time she spends on herself she still manages to look like an ugly prostitute. She's just lucky she's tall. I'm so happy the judge forced her to go back to jail, she lives in her own dream world, tbh girls like her are seriously dumb as hell, waste of space and not even worth 2c.

She deserves to be in jail for violating her parole, not for the hateful and pathetic reasons your citing here.

I agree. Her and the Sheriff should both be in jail.
