Tried to sign up and wouldn't accept my email address because it's a gmail account. Obviously if you have a gmail account you are a scammer according to Parked.

I've had the same email for years, all of my domains are associated with it as well as my paypal account. As well as my ebay account. 100% positive feedback on ebay as well as all the domain forums.

I sent their support a request for an exception, but was told no by one of the reps.

Most of my names are at NameDrive... and I hate Sedo.. anyone have a suggestion for another parking program better than namedrive?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes, parked does not accept free email services. Probably not all of the free services are unaccepted but the ones that they are aware of are not. It's really annoying cause this does not add up anything positive in practice, just in theory.
The situation with Sedo is the same but they make exceptions.

We don't allow free email addresses for one reason, it helps combat fraud. I have a gmail, yahoo, and hotmail email generator on my pc right now that somebody told me about. At one point we were getting 75 signups per hour all from random free email addresses. We don't have that problem anymore, but I've heard a new parking company does.

Once you signup with a non-free email address you can still setup to be paid via a free email address without any problems if you are using paypal.

Thanks all for your responses.

Donny, if your company decides to change the policy or make an exception, send me a PM.

The problem I have with getting a new email is convenience. I never check them, I just don't need another thing to set up or log in to. Plus I want my email address to match my domain whois info, oddly enough to ensure transparency, trustworthyness and honesty.

Best Regards,
Dave

Hi Donny,
Is it possible also to change the email address for receiving any kind of correspondence from parked? If not, I think this is the bigger problem because a man could not gather all desired mails in one place (or at least cannot do it easily). If yes, maybe the registration time pain is tolerable.

OK Donny, you win. I broke down and created an email account on my main domain. I really want to try out your service, so I've thrown my principles aside.

Here's to a prosperous partnership, hopefully.

Best Regards,
Dave

Well I feel better now, as I refuse to negotiate domain sales from people using free email services as you cant track the Sender IP on Gmail. The sender IP can mean the difference of $xxxx

Speaking of $xxxx, logged in to my Parked account today, to see a domain with an RPM of $10,200.00.. sorry had to share that.

SN.. you wont go wrong with Parked.. its worth the new email account :)

well, so far so good. I love the hands off approach. Great system you have in place there Donny.

Thanks for the fast response to my issue as well. I have a couple of more, but will wait a couple of days to see how this pans out.

Namestrands - I love the logo you have for digitalarcade.... very cool.

care to share more info on this? PM me.

Also (for anyone that has the answer) - about what time do the actual click prices adjust for the previous day?

Thanks

Best Regards,
Dave

How can anyone be a serious domainer without their own e-mail address on one of their domains?

It would be like owning a Lexus dealership and riding a bike as transportation.

If you like gmail, you can set it up on your own domain - for free!!

Never said I was a serious domainer. Although I have made my living from it for the last 2 and a half years. All with a gmail account, go figure.

The easiest explanation I guess is that I've had about 5 different hosting accounts and servers and hate setting up email addresses every time I change..

I like the ease of gmail, all the free space, plus they have a great spam filter.

To each their own.

Respectfully,
Dave

Dave,

Go to www.google.com/a/ to get your own gmail using your own domain name. The feature and service is similar to gmail. You have option to use standard or premier, go there to get more details.

In this way, you can give email address to your future employees for free. I can set this up for you if you want for a small "knowledge" fee. Send me pm.

Hope this help you.
Regards,
Em

Thanks for the offer, but I already set up my email on my server. I'm all set.

Take care,
Dave
