Sedo, has two new sites running in BETA - Sedo.cn and Sedo.ae.

Although, not yet fully functional Chinese, Japanese and Korean IDN can now be parked at Sedo.cn. The Sedo.ae site is less developed, but Arabic IDN should be able to be parked here in the near future.

You might think that became they are all US centric, but try searching the dollar sign on Google! Nothing I am afraid!

It is a nice domain, but almost certainly too expensive for my taste!

Nah, I just think most of domainers are underevaluating the potential of the IDNs with the Euro symbol... unfortunately the Dollar symbol isnt allowed in names.
But its present in many million keyboards..... and without too much gymn to type it.
Also I dont think anybody uses the word "dollar" for any meanings other the currency one.
In Europe is a bit different.
It is common here to use the word "euro" to mean european, in fact there are a lot of companies like "EuroCasa" (eurohome) EuroMercato (euromarket) EuroAssicurazioni (euroinsurances) and so on.
And using a logo like " €bet " is catchy.
Allow one more year (after Microsoft releases the new browser fully IDN compatible) and some big companies start using € in their logo and you will see what a earthquake will shake the domains market....
Just wondering why Sedo which is a German company is still ignoring it.....

My opinion of course.
Regards.

I think you are proably on to something there! I can see the attraction with € deratives. It obviously not part of the character set that has been enabled on Sedos European websites. They could have gone for a general enabling of IDN, but they seem to be following a different strategy, probably to enable them to target individual markets so that traffic can be matched local advertising. Still if the DNS support it, somebody will want it, especially as I guess most of Europe has it as a symbol on the keyboard. Score of 927 on overture without the extension, as opposed to "No suggesions" for idnenabled.

Yes and its a shame....
Of course I dont expect any visits or clicks for now on my "euroIDNs" but at least i could try to sell some through Sedo (not my pearl "€tv.com" ) and give a start to the market....
Regards.

Comment not meant as a sales comment

Can someone help me in identifying this one? I am not sure what language this is in.

And if known, which, if any, should I list at which Sedo network?

I would appreciate any help you can offer.

First impressions are that it is the French for at or to, however, if you translate the punycode into Unicode and put it in to Google search it becomes clear that it is in fact part of the Vietnamese Script or alphabet.

Don't think this can currently be listed at SEDO!

that's great news, sedo is moving along. I'm not aware of any other parking program that accepts IDN's, does anyone use another service to park asian IDN's?

Bashar,

Thanks for that! We are queuing up to get on there. Got some crackers for you with lots of Overture Keyword Searches and traffic.

What do you think of these?

xn--4gb0a.net
xn--mgb.com
xn--pgbeo5f.com
xn--mgbag5a2flx.com

This is going to be big. Did you know there are more people, only second to Chinese, that speak Arabic than English as a first language as a first language? What's more, contary to popular opinion their main residences are not generally the romantic image of tents in the desert!

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Best Regards

Bashar, perhaps you will let me know when the Arabic site is able to accept Arabic IDN. I have several hundred to upload and I know that some of them have significant traffic. Think this would help you to evaluate how the Beta Site is performing and allow you to iron out some of the bugs as we are encountering quite a few on the dot cn site.

I've been racking my brains looking over this post. I'm not sure about when it was initially launched but the Sedo.cn is only in Chinese currently. I can't find any info on Sedo supporting Japanese or Korean. Nor can I find any links in Japanese which I'm looking for.

If anyone has a link please post it.

If you put the Japanese in Sedo.cn it will go into the SEDO database and behave just same as English domains. Only the Chinese site will display the local characters in the management tool. Just about all the adverts are in English anyway, and the Chinese site still only supports a limited number of local keywords.

The initial earning will no doubt disappoint, but things will improve! This is not a finished project and no doubt eventually a Japanese version will be launched later. They have also started work on an Arabic site Sedo.ae but there is virtually no functionality there yet.

To enter domains in Sedo.cn, go to the left hand Menu tab and choose the second option down. Paste names into box, check box and press arrow bottom right I think? Usual Sedo nameservers for parking:

ns1.sedoparking.com
ns2.sedoparking.com

Reason it is all handled on the one site for time being is that all three countries/languages use Kanji so there is a lot of overlap.

Actually, just had fright of life as I checked out www.ク.com only to find out that is was pointed elsewhere other than Google Adwords. Did several other Hirigana domains same thing. Thought I must have lost the domains but they Whois OK, so it looks as though Sedo are trying another PPC service on selected domains. By contrast www.る.com is still at Adwords.

ACTUALLy SCRATCH LAST PARAGRAPH. THERE IS PROBLEM WITH DOMAINSITE. ON RENEWAL THEY SEEM TO HAVE RESET THE NAMESERVERS AT VERISIGN TO DEFAULT WITHOUT UPDATING LOCAL WHOIS.

I've add some IDNs domain into Sedo.cn

But I can not find anything in my [domain listing] ?!

Is the sedo.cn system different than sedo.uk or sedo.de ?

No the system is much the same. You should be able to take the "Add" Command (second down) at left hand menu option and just add them in. You need to check a box on the first page, to say you agree to terms and conditions. After that it is just clicking on "Next" at bottom right. Should accept Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Hindi, Bengali and Tamil but not Russian, Arabic, Urdu and probably not Latin IDN. Western European Latin can be done at Sedo.com.
