I have noticed that the revenue obtained from parking domains has been gradually
going down and down. Is this a trend that others have seen ?
What I am looking for is a parking company that lets you customise the template
so that the domain can CLEARLY be marked as "For Sale" as well as at the same
time earn PPC. Where is best for that ?.

Thanks
DG

Yes, parking revenue has been going down and I expect it to continue to do so. The trend is clear.

If you're more interested in selling domains than monetizing their traffic through domain parking, Sedo might be for you. They have an option for you to mark a domain as "for sale" while also serving PPC ads. Buyers can then directly submit an offer via Sedo's template and Sedo will later take care of the sale. You'll have to pay a 10% commission.

If you don't want to pay a commission and handle the domain transaction yourself, you can go to any parking company. As far as I know, almost every parking service offers a "for sale" option by now. For example, at Parked.com a note saying that the domain is for sale will be added to the top of your parking page. If a visitor clicks on the link he will be sent to a form where he can submit an offer directly to you via email. Parked.com also allows the customization of the "for sale" notice. But as said, about every parking company has an option to mark your domains for sale.

In the long run, parking revenues will continue to decline, so looking into other ways of monetizing their traffic will pay off, in my opinion.

I park with Fabulous.com and my rev has been staying about the same month after month. So for me, it's not "going down" but it also has not been going Up.

Those of you who have seen parking revenue actually stay the same, I'd like to ask the following:

1. What's the time period you're looking at in your stats? If I compare my 2006/2007 stats to 2008 I don't like what I see. Within 2008, my revenue hasn't changed significantly so far, but compared to the years before it went down.

2. Also, is it your RPM that has stayed the same or the overall revenue? Because the latter could be because you added domains to your portfolio, etc. I'm sure you know that looking at earnings per click and the revenue per 1,000 visitors tells you more about parking performance than the overall revenue of a portfolio when comparing stats; I'd just like to clarify that we're talking about the same thing here.

My revenue at trafficz.com has been maintaining itself quite well over the last 6 months.

Trafficz have an "enquire about this domain" option which I rely on.

Last year/this year (same period)
Same domains, same revenues.

in comparison with last year, revenue is down. This year it hasn't changed much though, from month to month.

About your question regarding a company that lets you customize the landing page etc .... I believe parked.com landers are the most customizable landers industrywide. Then there is also Active Audience, they allow you to customize the landers a lot as well.
