I have been using Roboform and was pretty happy with their service but now they are asking me to buy their license. Before I pay for them, i just want to make sure they are worth paying for.
what are your thoughts on different password managers?
Please recommend which ones are worth buying or do you know any free ones that are equally good?
thanks
simon

I just use the one that comes with firefox along with the 'password exporter' extension for doing backups. Not all the bells and whistles of roboform but it does the trick for keeping passwords.

I bought their license and use it for a while now.

Passwords are something you'd actually like to pay for to manage to feel more protected in light of all the recent thiefts and stuff :)
I think there is also some some coupon code or discount available, so google it.

I'd recommend you to use FF integrated passwords manager along with a master password to have more protection if you like, along with 'password exporter' as whitebark said + iMacros if you like to have something close to Roboform.
this would do you the job better IMHO :)

Simon, RoboForm appears to be the top rated Password management program, it's gotten pretty good reviews...... If you like the program, I say stick with it, Why spend time relearning another program when your happy with the first one?... besides, it's only $30

http://www.sxipper.com/ is quickly becoming a strong competitor to roboform. I've been a roboform (paid) user for years, but also have sxipper installed. I was running both so I could slowly train sxipper with all of my roboform logins. However, sxipper 2.0 now has the ability to import roboform data (and export/save your passwords for backup).

It lacks a couple of features that roboform has:

password generator (plenty available online)
one click logins (with sxipper, you have to visit the site for the login window to popup)

however, it has:
Login/password learning while signing up for a site.
auto show/hide toggle
disposable email generation
login success learning. It shows only the logins which have recently worked. others are hidden until you click an arrow.
firefox 3 support

and will soon have synchronization capabilities. I was using google bookmark synch to do this, but firefox 2 and firefox 3 call their password file something different and google doesn't recognize that.

Hope that helps.

I don't know if it is available on an end-user basis but my company has moved over to a Citrix password manager SW. Personally, I hate it and would not recommend it. It has a bad habit of pulling old passwords and locking people out of the applications that they need access to.

I have been told by a friend today he can get 3 RoboForm licenses for only $45! possible?
If so, anyone wants to contribute? it will be as low as $15/license, $15.95 off.
if one or more of you interested let me know and we can go get it low, I'll use it by then if so low :D
