Very sad. A great man and the finest tenor in history bar none, who has brought joy and wonderment to so many. Luciano will be greatly missed. RIP big fellow.

Is this serious? I used to laugh when my parents would listen to Pavarotti and complain to me about listening to my "noise" too loud, haha.

It was Pavarotti who taught me to enjoy and appreciate opera singing. I don't like all opera music but I did like him. He was perhaps one of the best opera tenor singers who ever lived. I'm glad he lived to see his 3 score and ten years...his music will live forever.

Amen H2FC. In fact, no need to worry about full-blown opera - just the arias. Tonight, 'nessun dorma' is an apt aria. Mind you' I'll probably go to sleep listening to it.

Pavarotti will certainly be missed. I'm a fan of baroque operas, specifically Handel and Vivaldi. For those of you that enjoy vocal compositions but prefer motets and chansons to arias, I highly recommend Josquin Desprez.
