Hey guys.

Quick question. I am trying to buy a domain off buydomains.
I sell them numerous domains on a regular basis.

For the first time, I want to buy a domain off them.
They quoted me in excess of $1,000 USD as a final offer.

The domain is two words and matches one of my products exactly.

The .net is freely available.

I am a big believer in the value of .com
I want the .com BUT it is $1,000 more expensive.

Do i conceed and pay for the .com?

Thanks

Can you live without the .com? If so then let it go & buy the .net. If you plan on developing I would buy the .com.

Well.. without wanting to give away the domain..

Im making a website under a brandable domain... the domain in question is what people would likely type into google.

e.g my website is wooblecook.com the domain in question is onlinerecipes.com

I feel i cannot live without it because it would be the perfect domain for a competitor.. my idea was if i bought it id just redirect it to my site.

Cheers

no one can tell you if the domain is worth it to you

you will have to decide that based on your budget and desire for the domain

perhaps you can counter with a lower but respectful offer

maybe it's best to look at what the domain will be worth in the future, rather than what it's worth today

imo...

I would buy it and be happy they did not finalize with a higher number....I have bought a few names from Buydomains and lately they seem to be offering some pretty good deals in the low xxxx range.

Uuuummmm I stopped here and said to myself, is he ok in the head, $1k to get your product exactly in the dot com, if you believe in what youre doing its a no brainer. I dont even know your plans but know if you wont spend $1k on this than you dont believe in the potential of the plan.

If you're just looking for type-in traffic to redirect to the main site keep your money - the .net won't give you much with that and if the .com is too expensive then put that money towards advertising for the main site.

If you can't live without it then it definitely should be worth $1000. :) Buy it.

Thanks for all the views and suggestions. I appreciate i very much answered my own questions.

It was not so much me doubting whether I needed the domain or not but more me being stubborn at buydomains price expectations given the domain/availability of the .net

Anyway I have agreed to purchase the domain.. I will post it once finalized and maybe you can give your post deal views...

Cheers everyone !
