Happened to me about a year ago...took me 3 weeks to unblock...had to send in all the sale verifications, proofs, buyer satisfactions, id proof, and a ton of other bs that nobody cares about - I think they just do it for laughs and kinks. Def one of the worst customer service companies out there.

i will sort this s**t out in a time~ still have another "unfrozen account"

but lets start thinking what else can be done for small immediate domain transactions

~ I'm sick of pp stunts and banning its service!

Got my US paypal account limited too this weekend. The second time in only 10 days! 2 weeks ago they requested me to add a THIRD credit card to verify the address, and after some problems I managed to comply, and got the phone verification done.
Now they limited it AGAIN this weekend, asking for photo ID, utility bill, bank statements, cc statements... due to "suspicious activity" on Feb 23... I didn't have any activity at all, hardly, that day... certainly none that was suspicious.
Perhaps they mean a payment made on the 18th, when I bought a domain for almost 20K, using PayPal funds. But that was 5 days before they limited the account.
Bastards... I have over $10K in the account. (I'm in the progress of changing bank accounts, or I would never keep that much in the account...)
It's a business account, regged on my US corporation, not a personal account.

I normally do too, but had issues with our bank, and didn't want the money stuck there... If they had waited until after the weekend to limit our account, it would have been transferred to our new bank already. :veryangry:

It happened to me several times too. Finally I got my funds back, but it sucks when you cannot use your money for months. They use our funds to earn interests and we just get upset and send them useless faxes...

i think too it's maybe part of their strategy !? ~ why wouldn't they limit my other account with no funds on , if it was "suspicious activity"

even if I've told them about my other acc on the phone?? :suspicious:

PLUS~ i can receive money with my limited, but not send or withdraw !!!!

:rip: paypal !

I have also been through all that best option is to convert to a PayPal alternative and the best one out there is Moneybookers , get an account there and may be we DNF'ers should start accepting Moneybookers only and be much more secure and we wont loose any money either.

I have got my U.S. account with pp for about a year now, never had a similar issue with them, why this step being taken with many of you? big deals transactions causes this action? (I didn't use pp before for big deals, always go with mb, wire or escrow)

Got my access back again... actually pretty fast, only a day after I sent documents.
Now I've quickly transferred the money out of PayPal...:uhoh:

We would stop using PayPal if we could.. but most of our money going into PayPal isn't from domaining, it's from different services where a large percentage of the customers want to use PayPal for payment... if we wouldn't accept PayPal, we would lose a lot of business. :(
We use Moneybookers too, but it's not at all as popular.
