Would this be a (tm) problem if I bought this name today?

It was just released!!!

PayPals.net

Please do not go and buy it!!!

I don't care if your name is Mr. Pay Pals

It is not worth the fight.

But, the big question is
"Why does PayPal and Ebay permit the name to
be re-issued? "

Can't they just request the name to be transferred to them without going thru the delete process?

I can see some possible problems if this Domain was registered.

I hope it was not someone from this forum.

I don't want to hear the wining and the asking for help!

Earlier this week

Home-Goods.com was dropped. I wanted to buy it with
a passion. Eventhough, because of the dash, it really did not
have a high value. But, I am in the houseware industry and the
complete word would be worth a lot.

Unfortunately, TJ Maxx owns the .com name to go with
their store name. And, I can assure you. They would be all over
me if I bought it.

Once, again. Why don't the companies buy all the possible versions
of their domain names to elliminate legal cost, as well as competition.
(Sorry, that is my MBA school training.)

They don't have to buy all versions of their name. Chances are the person who regged a name related to theirs knows they have no chance of winning so a simple/standard hand-it-over C&D letter does the trick.

I think it is wrong that TJ Max are allowed to claim a general descriptive phrase like "home goods". It's like Ford registering "cars" and stopping anyone using the word.

TJ Maxx has a chain of stores called Home Goods (basically second-rate merchandise their main stores didn't sell).

tjmaxx woould likely only win because they have more money. Home goods is generic. The case that really ripped me was the sex.biz guy who lost. That judge should be shot.
