Thanks, but most small to midsized businesses use a payroll service and do not do it in house. Most don't have the expertise to handle all the rules, regulations and filing requirements along with the liabilities associated, especially when there are multi-state/city and localities involved.I agree with Biggie.

Thanks, processing is a better term.our company, with less than 300 employees, use ADP. While smaller companies may use QuickBooks, which can configure taxes rates, etc., based on several factors.
additionally, the correct term is "payroll processing", as "payroll preparation" implies only a portion of the task has been done.
