The Greek word you are referring to is pepsis, and in English, pepsin...

Yes, thats where pepsi got its name..as a stomach settler, like alka-seltzer...it was first marketed in drug stores as a medicinal, thats why drug stores had fountains, but the actual word pepsi is a TM, and is NOT a greek work without the "s".

pepsis was called before 1978 , like thesis, eklipsis etc..after 1978 the goverment made a law for the official language to be the modern spoken languange without these "s" and many other differences, pepsis is like ancient greek now,its just pepsi now to all the greek vocabularies the last 20 years

Reminds me of an old addage I heard while in Greece:

"H pepsn kai n repsn exoune tnv idia geusn"

Drinking Pepsi and burping tastes the same
I think is the translation.

But PepsiCo could argue PEPSH is with an eta at the end folks

Have you been contacted by pepsi?

contact Pepsi just to let them know that you own the name, and it's not for sale, to test it out if your greek word is more powerful than the TM of the giant company.

Why would he contact them?
To tell them that it is NOT for sale?
