Lets just say you found a city in the US with a population of 20,000

The .com of the exact name of the city is taken, but the .net and .info are available.

Which TLD is better to reg, do you think you could get much for either name? Can I have an idea of a value of both the .net and .info domains of the same city.

And overall, what TLD is better for city domains?

Since both .net and .info are available , register them both. For city name I would prefer .info over .net .

is there much value to a name like this? what size does a city have to be before the .info or .net becomes worth over $50 or so.

I'm with URLtrader, register both and develope the .info as the main site with .net pointing to it.

City names probably aren't going to be a huge cash cow unless you own the names of fairly large cities. But pulling $50 shouldn't be very hard. Still, I think it's best to develop.

what about a city/town with a pop. of 50,000 ? (I just found one of those...)

When does a 'city' become large enough to have a .info domain name worth enough to make an easy profit?
