pizza.com wasn't sold 'cause of some fake bidders, the guy that have won the domain protested about that and so the domain is again in the market. That's the 'cause why Sedo has put the Premium Certification after the pizza's auction.

Too many fake bidders on Sedo.
I saw the new Premium Certification and use it too when I bid on some premiums but...I think our Industry need some new rules when some high level names goes to auction.

Like I've said before, it's time to think outside the box for domains that deserve their due. Let's get pizza.com out of the box and up on the table where it belongs. People in a position to pay $5 - 10 million for pizza.com are not interested in forum where they can be played.

Well, I guess they've just got to stroll on over to places in New York and London like Sotheby's and get it going. Maybe someone can whisper the idea in their ear a bit, too, :) and I suppose a press release would be a good idea, perhaps also a call or two to a major television news station. Something tells me certain domains should have little to no trouble getting traction in the press.

Just a thought.

I see.. But who is gonna tell the press. Its hard to see in the headlines
"Name.com for sale!"

Haven't you ever seen domain related press releases, even for ones of less stature than pizza.com? I almost put a release out myself some time ago. The owner puts it out and then if it gets picked up...

But one can also do a little more than that, and just having a substantial domain placed in a forum where those who can afford it would feel comfortable should probably be a plus in itself, and also result in some industry buzz among potential buyers.

It is true that it didn't sell. I called Sedo's chief negotiator several weeks ago and he confirmed the sale "hit some roadblocks" and didn't go through.
