I normally play tourneys but when I do play a table I play 50 c / $1 no-limit.

Knowing the average gamblers psych - I can't see anyone coming on saying they lose anything serious. Anyone who says they 'break even' is probably actually losing money...

My biggest earning name this year is gambling related (affiliate site) and I am often shocked by the amounts that people are willing to lose; shocked, but happy! ;)

Jason I gotta disagree with ya there. Of course individuals who spend excessive amounts of time and money online of course loose. I play about once a week and usually do decently in tournaments. I usually place in the money about 4 out of 6 games that I play. Personally I think the odds are better at least for me if I play less table games and more tourneys or sit n gos. On average I spend $200 - $300 a month on online poker and either break even or on good months make a few extra xxxs. Everyone has their good days and bad.

I advertise poker more than I play. I make much more by advertising it then playing so I don't think I will be in the WSOP any time soon. :)

Oh and the reason I do play online is because the closest casino is 5 hours away. I prefer live action.

It doesn't take $ to see hot women nude, but you better have some before you sit at a table. Improve your game with both and not only will you make $ but you'll feel like a rockstar :)

I'm a long time online player until 2008, now i'm too busy. at one time I played full time for about 7 months. it was nice but it got to be a bit of a grind and winning is never guaranteed, even when you play well. i would still enjoy it but i enjoy it a little too much and i would probably not get a lot of anything else done. :D

I stopped in Biloxi and played a tourny at the Beau Rivage about a month ago and wound up down to final 4 players and we chopped the pot for $1100 each. buyin was $130. biggest online tourny cash was $3k in a $50 rebuy

Off the "online subject" a little...I play poker every day, all day. I have for the past 30+ years. But I'm playing "live," here in my home town, Vegas baby. Every day, it's 1-2 hours of domaining, then off to a poker game.
As I'm "old school," I've cut my teeth on limit games and now, no limit is the place to be. Caesars Palace and The Mirage (actually, all the Strip) offer nice "soft" no-limit games with $1-3 blinds and a maximum $300 buy-in. And all those 20 something wet-behind-the-ear kids who think they know what they're doing. I love the ones in the "uniform" - the sunglasses, earphones and baseball hat or hoodie. You know...too much watching TV.
As a veteran of untold thousands of "flops," one truism: you can't teach experience. Hey, you guys keep practicin' online and when you're ready to play with the big boys (i.e. go swimmin' with sharks), I'll see you on the Strip.

Craig you lucky dog :D I also had a nice cash a tourny at Binions one time i rolled through Vegas on a road trip. I will eventually play in a WSOP, probably one of the lower $1k buyins. you know, then when i win I won't feel so bad about dropping $10k on the ME :D

btw, what ever happened to a DNForum poker night that someone was trying to organize? this was last year or the year before I think ...

it's a good time to move to Vegas, especially if you have consistent work, real estate deals abound and jobs opps are less.

I believe there was a Vegas poker pro here who had the idea but he had other problems and reneged on a DN purchase so I think that ended that.

btw, My top PPC name right now is a typo of Card Player's SpadeClub.com, who advertise on the radio (Great for typos). I had a $7 click yesterday on my Spadclub.com. And even my SpeadClub.com gets some type-in action. Hey, no one ever said poker players could spell.

& Melissa, I won't call you. I fold my Kings. There's always next hand.

I'm not disagreeing, but for every winner, there must be multiple losers - you never hear anyone say "yeah, I play every week; lose about $200 every time".

""I still get the feeling that I can win back the money at the casino," he was quoted as saying, adding he is currently undergoing weekly therapy for his gambling addiction."
