I suppose I'll take a little heat for this but I have to come out and post this message about Pool's and/or PSI Japan's fraudulent activity.

They can sue me for libel but the truth is the truth.

On May 20 I bought HechoEnCuba.com from Pool auction for $35. It means Made In Cuba in Spanish. Hey, for $35, no problem. ( hechoencuba.com 2004-05-19 16:44:18 $35.00 2004-05-19 16:44:18 See All Bids )

I am a fan of Pool and they catch good names for me. The registrar they used was PSI Japan. I NEVER got a confirmation from PSI with the user name and password but pool did hit my credit card so they did get paid.

I figured I would wait the 60 days and just transfer the name out. There are plenty of useless registrars that will never get any of my business and PSI is certainly one of those.

Anyway, PSI has told me that someone has stolen my domain. Funny, I don't remember having possession of it in the first place! And, pool has told me that they don't give refunds.

Well, to Pool and PSI: Pool has my money and PSI has/had my domain. As I remember reading here (sorry I don't remember the author) buying a domain without a user name and password is like buying a car and not getting the keys.

Pool's sale and no-refund policy is a crime. They sold me a car I can drive.

PSI Japan's incompetence is unforgivable. They never gave me control and now they say it been stolen? Please.

If PSI is aware and agrees to the fact that the domain was stolen, then what is the hold up? I mean the domain is still at PSI, so they can still get it back...right?

I had a written agreement with PSI when I was renting their connections.
They shamlessly violated it and it had to be terminated.
It's just a confirmation that they are full of crap.

Another example of the crap registrars Pool uses, mostly in Asia.

Stay away from Pool (as more and more here seem to be doing) and that way you can also avoid those bad registrars.

Domain is still registered at PSI. So they can easily retrieve it and give it to the person who paid for it?

PSI just needs a reminder that in the past registrars have been sued for their fault resulting into theft of domains, sex.com & verisign (most incompetent registrar in business) easily comes to mind. How can one sue a Japan based company is another question though.

Someone needs to put a list together of all the registrars Pool uses that suck. Thanks to this forum, I did not bid on a name that I wanted. This domain is still parked at pool and the registrant is ultsearch so I am pretty sure they are having issues changing the information. The registar was BID IT WIN IT INC.

A list of registrars would be very helpful and possibly POOL would see the list and realize a lack of bids according to the registrar the domain was back ordered with and stop dealing with these incompetent registrars.

Why can't Pool manage domains caught by the registrars like enom does?
It makes things a whole lot easier..

More the reason to create a BLACKLIST of pool registrars. PSI has now been added to the list. Help me out with some others. It's very good to look at the WHOIS once Pool get a domain to see if you should bid or not.

It's still set to use pool's dns. Is the person/company below you? If not, get a lawyer.

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST

Okay, here's an update from my original post.

The issue has FINALLY been resolved after MANY emails. My info never made it to the WHOIS (either Pool didn't give it to PSI or PSI did not update the WHOIS) so that's where the confusion was.

So, my advice is if you buy a domain from Pool auction, check the WHOIS right away to make sure the transfer is finalized.

Good luck.

WHAT?!

Oh cr@p. I have a domain with them (through Pool). They NEVER replied to my tech support queries, however from their cunning resemblance to AR.com's interface (another Pool registrar) I suspected they are related and was able to have it fixed by calling...AR.com !

Still, it took them 5 days to make a simple change like DNS & Email update (it would not work via their interface). The tech guy told me he knew the Vedacore guys and he'd relay the info to them. Believe it or not, I gave my Vedacore account info to Alice's Registry and it was fixed as I mentioned above.

I can't wait for the 60 days to lapse, so that I can transfer my domains out of PSI.
