Pool just caught a domain for me using encirca. I wonder if they are still catching for snapnames or have split their connections.

That makes like 7 registrars for Pool....Amazing

7 registrars now.

They're going to be the #1 soon.

Snapnames has removed Encirca from its list of registrars. I guess it is official now....

I guess they timed the move with the release of their new account manager. Way better than the old setup.

I can assure you SnapNames is on the phone or personally meeting with every other accrec. registrar to aggressively sign them on. Promising them to make a lot more profit. Promising to help them update their system. etc, etc, etc And, Pool is doing the same thing.

Snapnames and Pool are also probably meeting with the top computer and software gurus to see how they can update their computers and connections quickly. They are probably also looking at state of the art overland connections. And, how to make their communication a mil, mil second faster. Just to get that edge

SnapNames is not going to take this laying down. Snap execs. are probably working 14 hr days.

I don't know the corporate executives at Snaps or Pool. But, to use that worn out expression "been there, down that".

Pool and SnapNames will start slugging it out. NW and Godaddy will do everything they can to keep up. Enom will slip even more in their effectiveness.

At the same time, BD and Ult are putting pressure on their private registrars to keep up. And, also offering or promising more to them so they don't jump ship.

And, the other private clubs will have some success. But, they will also be trying to catch up to the new syndicates.

Most likely, the smaller clubs will set the algorithms to capture the "most" profitable names first and always. And, a couple of the drop clubs will stay the same course. And, lose market share. Until they are forced to quit or join the others.

It is going to be interesting over the next couple months.

The guy took business partners from his former company? If he could screw his former company, I have no doubt that he will screw business partners, customers, etc., any time he likes.

Will it be a verisign monopoly or a pool monopoly? Which would be worse? We know that snap names can't/won't survive this in the long run. They certainly cannot change their business model after they have promised backorders out to people and are about to see the WLS become a reality. This is all like a roller coaster ride.

If the former company screws him, the worst thing is he lost his job.

But it seems like he is competing w/ his ex boss and tried to take the former company (where he learned this business from) down.

Doesnt suprise me, last month I talked to the Encirca owner who I have dealt with many times before on other things (unrelated to snapnames).

He gave me a figure to buy him out of snapnames. Ii was much lower than I thought it would be.

But another registrar caught my eye with a more attractive offer, pool.com is crunching on them now...

This is bad.
