I also have a question about pool. If you are sent an email stating the auction for your name has begun, does that mean definitively that they caught the/your name? Thanks.

Yes Peace......they have definitely caught the name.....but it's not yours until the auction is over and your the highest bidder.

Thanks Shaggy. One last question (im new to pool):

If it says I am the winning bidder so far and bid is $60 does that mean I was the first bidder on the name and we are in a tie and since I am first, I am the winner so far?

If '60' is in green then the pool started the auction from you and you are the current higher bidder, even tho you didn't not bid on the domain.
If '60' is in red, then you are not the current higher bidder and you'll need to bid (at least to 70) in order to become the highest bidder and get the domain.

Depending on the quality of domaisn you go for, the rate of domains that go to auction vary, from 100% - 50%, I'd say.

Good luck, pool.com is a must for all who seriously consider the game as they get a big share og both higher and lower quality domains...

Thanks yakov. I like pool so far. They seem to be getting a lot of names. I think they will work well for me for the kinds of names I like.

Peaceful...I figured out if your the person with the green $60 bid...you were the first to submit the domain to Pool.com. Thats how they determine who has the first $60 bid.

Being the first doesn't mean much, I had a green $60 of photobank.com, and three days later, a red $2300 (NW bid was $2177).

To be honest, it wouldnt surprise me if they scan their list to see if theyve captured any good named and then alert people to cause an auction.

Which kinda makes them no better than the likes of buydomains etc.

But then again, if you want a good name I suppose you're willing to do that.
