I would be interested in reactions to Pool's auction for pw affiliates at http://pwregistry.pool.com.
.pw doesn't register second level domains, these are called community domains. For example, smith.pw is a community domain. The deal is they offer email addresses with spam blocking with third level domains, like .name when they started out.
.pw has an affiliate program where they only accept one affiliate for each second level domain. So, whoever becomes the affiliate for smith.pw gets paid commissions on every sale of a smith.pw address.
Since I'm the only affiliate for smith.pw, the CJ model of having a special link is moot. I can do some stealth marketing for smith.pw, drive eyeballs to smith.pw and still get paid.
Seems like a good deal. Am I missing something?
