that is a great name - you should do some target marketing with some of those industrial potato farms in Idaho - they would love to use a name like that

2-5k estimate

A quick lookup in the whois shows that POTATO.com is registered by a Colorado company till 2012; and j8jweb is from Bristol (UK), right?

Perhaps it's not his, and is simply looking for an "appraisal". Seems odd, but it's not against the rules ... I don't believe.
It's a generic, single word .COM! So, it has value. Personally, I would want the 'plural here, as well ... if I was the owner. Good Luck.

excellent one worder DN..

coolhost is right, no rules have been broken, anyone can request an appraisal on any name, whether or not they are the owner.. quite possibly he's interested in buying the name, and seeking feedback.

Oh, I LOVE potatoes (even though I have written a play back in college called "I Don't Like Potatoes"). I like it baked, mashed, in fries and even chips.

Yes but potatos are not all spiky or slinky, nor are they spiders legs (like in the myth of legs). Moreover, a goose potato is an empty toothpaste tube with a ping pong ball on one end.

Although I think I will make it a rule that you must own the name to ask for an appraisal. It's a waste of time. Even if you wanted to know because the real owner is selling, you wouldn't advertise that fact if you really wanted to buy it. Or if you say you did it as a favor for the real owner, tell the real owner to join and post.
