Why are there premium domains that get very little traffic... For example, I'm looking at images.info which has 1,020,000,000 results (billion), but has absolutely no data on Compete.

Shouldn't a domain of this caliber be getting at least some traffic?

It's being parked...

It still should receive some traffic though...

When was the last time you typed in .info to go to a site (and not based on a site you already know of).

Develop it, that's your best bet. It's a very good name I just don't think you'll see much traffic, if any.

Edit: If you don't want to develop - try a different parking company - Parked.com lets you put in custom content at the bottom of the page.

Because it's a crappy .info.

There is a reason why vote.info went for only $1k a couple of days ago at domainfest. Because it's a crappy .info.

Get with the Jones's and get acquainted with .com. It's a much better world here ;)

How is it a bad .info?

It's got the google results, the high searches per month...
single premium keyword "images"

What do you consider a good .info?

Not many .info domains are good domains for resale / type in traffic.

**BUT**

Your domain is screaming for development. .Info domains can be successful sites (I've had some .info sites in the past pay for themselves plus some profit - but these were developed sites, not parked domains).

Here's what you'll need to do:

1) Get some hosting (cheap, even, like hostmonster.com)
2) Set up a Wordpress blog with a nice template (Google is your friend here)
3) Set up a subdirectory with an image sharing script (I'm sure there are many of free ones out there).
4) Customize both with some AdSense and Amazon links
5) Update often (1-2 times a week?), upload many of your own images.

(Take this form someone who also registered a lot of .info domains I "thought" were "good"). ;)

But it's a .info.. So why are you arguing with yourself ?

What do you consider a good .info?

I guess it went RIGHT OVER your head. Dot-info is what's crappy. Get in with .com.. There is a good reason why I own xxxx .com's and no other extention.

If you want to create some value for your .info, then develop it. Period

Just to further make my point..

I own multiple 2-word dot coms, that have less than 2% of those results, and also have no data on compete, yet they (each of them) get over 100 unique visitors per day.

I hope you get the point. ;)

Yes, it is because of .info extension. I also have a few one word .info but stats are not encouraging.

Hello my neighbor! I also begins with t and ends with z without the numbers! The key to your question is, development. You need to spread the words out. Sex.com is different than sex.tk. People go to sex.com, does not mean they know sex.tk exist.

.info can be profitable with development (like all extensions), but it doesn't worth the serious development and marketing.

Just think about origin of type-in traffic. I want to buy used car, so I'll try usedcars.com, if I'm not satisfied in few cased I'll try .net . I wouldn't try any other TLD, I'd rather use google then.

If You got 1 word .info, build backlinks, optimize and You might get easily some SE traffic (as domain name is very important keyword).
So don't park it, develop it into MFA or even something better.
