LOL if you don't know why...

Most plastics that you encounter in your daily life are made of PVC.

I think the typo isn't the reason why it is $40K. Exxe and Acro have it right - this domain is a gold mine to any plastics company.

It is used as PVC in Turkey and in some other countries I guess. So it is LLL + sectoral generic domain. But 40k must be an enduser I think.

It is an entire industry within itself.

These letters are so well branded into industrial and consumer uses.

Not sure why you are surprised it is at this price.

As I stated, it is an entire multibillion dollar global industry.

Any maker of PVC pipe or fitting would love to have this name.

Any distributor or wholesaler would love to have this name.

So if you are one of the global leaders in the production and distribution of PVC material you should get another domain?

What would you recommend?

I know someone who works for a plastics company and they use a lot of PVC.

They make:

The cases you get a watch in when you buy it
Those plastic cases that computer components come in (thumb drives, portable hard drives, memory cards, etc.)
Cases for many popular electronics, printers, monitors, some computer case parts, etc...

Heck, my inhaler dispenser is PVC plastic.

Many tools (screwdrivers, hammers, etc..) use PVC.

DVD and CD cases, DVD and CD storage units, and so on.

PVC is a "hidden" industry. Normal end users like ourselves are not the end users for it - it's people who supply the products to the end users like us who are the end users (does that make sense?). It's also a huge industry - just think of those industries I mentioned above and the person who supplies the packaging for it. (The only industry that doesn't go with PVC is sports cards since the PVC can eat away at the chemicals in them).

Many things purchased today come in plastic packages which PVC.com is the perfect domain for it. People looking for PVC (which is a huge industry) will look up PVC.

50K is dirt cheap - PVC is the perfect domain for this industry - short, memorable for the people looking for it, and a .com

If the letters PVC.com did not stand for any thing i would say at the current market value maybe its worth $3.5k to $4k , But it does stand for somthing really big and i think its worth $200k pluss to the right end user .
