Look at the whois again :

Domain not found locally, but Registry points back to local DB.
Local WHOIS DB must be out of date.

This is how you tell a drop !

Just a thought, but is there some sort of unwritten rule that members shouldn't post the names of good domains about to drop? Honor among thieves, and all that.

Yes. One thing I've noticed about nicgenie since it started is that it seems to go after names only on the 6th day of the purge cycle, rather than trying for the 5th.

This seems odd because my best guess is that at least 70 percent of drops happen on the 5th day, and the remainder on the 6th.

from which registrar? doesn't depend on the registrar when domain is dropped?

I was referring only to Network Solutions' names which have the 5/6 day delete cycle. All other registrars (ie. non-NetSol) have their own deletion schedules, which on average is between 30-40 days after the expiration of a domain name.
