Could someone please pass some information on about how i can query the whois database by expiry dates so effectivly i can get lists of .co.uk's that are going to drop tomorrow.

Thanks and some DNF$ to the person who can solve this!

Whatever he's offering, I'll offer double.

I've heard Nominet abandoned the gregorian calendar and are instead using a form of the Lunar calendar. Each month has between 23 and 35 days, apparently randomly selected 2 months in advance, though believed to depend on the ambient humidity in the office.

The time of the drop then depends on the degree of cloud cover over Venezuela, as observed by a weather balloon released from Nominet HQ one day previously.

If nobody can help us out on this one, some DNF$ may be available to anyone who can understand women :). It may be easier.

No query by expiry dates can be performed on virtually any whois server, let alone the UK whois server.

There is no hard-and-fast timetable for drops on the UK system. Domains become 'DETAGGED' which is roughly the equivalent of ON HOLD when they haven't been renewed. But they can be DETAGGED for years. Some domains from 1997 that weren't renewed are still DETAGGED. Nominet has to write to each and every domain holder, asking if they want to keep the domain. If they don't get a response within a couple of months, then the domain becomes SUSPENDED, which is equivalent of DELETING. However, SUSPENDED domains don't get deleted for a minimum of 21 days, and even then sometimes they don't become available for several months.
