question about free article websites

Are these good to use for content? What I don't understand is that many of them have links to another site in them. From example if an article is about flash drives, there might be a link to Kingston at the bottom. (that you have to include, as per terms and use)

Who gets credit when one of my visitors clicks the link? Do I have to set up a affiliate program with Kingston or does the author of the article get compensation?

*I just used Kingston as an example, I don't anything about them.
