I won a "pre-release" name at NameJet (sourced from Network Solutions). Now the domain is completely down. The nameservers are NS1.PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM and NS2.PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM but they don't resolve anywhere.

I really don't like that. I'd make it resolve somewhere if I had control of it but apparently it can take up to 3 days to actually transfer the actual control to me. I asked NJ about this and they said there's nothing they can do and it's always like this.

Is it? And is there nothing I can do to make the name resolve somewhere before I get actual control?

3 days is not unusual at all, it's the norm more or less.

OK but is it the norm for the domain to be off the grid during that period in terms of resolving?

What drives me bonkers is the minute and half lag between the time of purchase or account change and the domain appearing in your domain manager:)
