As far as Google results are concerned, wouldn't a mis-spelled word obviously get low results?
Also, whats the highest appraisial anyone has given to a typo?
For a misspelled word to be worth anything, IMO it really needs to have a significantly higher return at Google, say 500+. But if your typo is of a high value product that can be sold over the Internet, maybe 145 is okay.
Not sure of the highest appraisal for a typo, but I know of one typo being purchased for $6.5k, and another person said he wanted more then $10k for a typo of a travel word, and he was genuine.
Here's some examples of a commonly misspelled word in which the Overture tool can give a rough guestimate of the type-in traffic:
caribbean: Google 6.7 million; Overture caribbean.com = 878
carribean: Google 266,000; Overture carribean.com = 534
carribbean: Google 37,100; Overture carribbean.com = 66
The daily type-ins for the above domain names, IMO, would be respectively 580, 350 and 40 (multiplied .com Overture results by 2/3rds - maybe others have a more accurate method of guessing type-ins?).
It's important to note that sometimes Overture gives a nil result for a domain name, but in reality it can get upwards of 50 daily type-ins, as is the case with a couple of names I have.
