What about 2 character .cc domains? Do these have any potential at all?

Is it that nobody wants to speculate on .cc?

Reason i am asking is that i bought x2.cc
Bought it for myslef - x2 Comuter Consulting, but was wondering if the domain would fetch anything in the future, if i need to sell it.

Doubt if it will ever have much resale value, but since that is your business name it should be well worth having for your own site.

Yes, i think i like the domain very much. I have serveral pointers and this should work well as the main domain. I am not even thrown off by .cc to be honest. Because i am integrating .cc into the name (Computer Consulting, Computer Consultants), i think it works out ok. x2 is Times Two, as you probably guessed.

Thanks for the reply.

Earl, The way I understand it, is that .cc are ownership is non-transferable at this time. "They" whoever they are! Is looking into making them for resale in the future. If this ever happens, the values will shoot up. Until then, we can only keep our fingers crossed. My question is, why can't I find the 3 .cc's I own on Whois.cc? I bought them through Econ. If anyone has any insight to add to this, please keep us .cc holders informed.

Personally, I think the ".CC" has been the ugly duckling of the suffix-world since Day One, and continues to be. However, it IS short and you seem to have no problem with it for your own site ... so who are we to judge? It's invaluable to you ... and most likely worthless in the aftermarket. Good Luck.

That is correct and wrong at the same time. There is no automated way to transfer the .cc domains, but there is a way to do it. You have to fax stuff back and fourth and its a pain in the arse, but you can transfer ownership. 99.9% of people out there do not know this.

I think .cc has long term potential, although I have only registered one

Well, a 2 character combination results in 260 possible combinations (only letter+digit allowed, they do not allow 2 letters). Thats a very small number. If cc ever takes off, it should be very interesting. Currently, i agree, there is absolutely no value, unless you find a use for it as i did.
