Quick Question About Fair Use

If I would like to use a article on my site,how much is the maximum amoount of that article I can use? I will be citing the authour,the publication and a link back to the article,but lets say using 1 paragraph out of 3, is that too much?

There is no mechanical formula. "Fair use" is a narrow exception.

People do this a lot in blog posts, but quoting 1/3 is a little much. I'd recommend summarizing the article in your own words and only quoting a sentence or two.
