I own a forum, how long does it usually take for it to be indexed/page ranked?

it depeneds on a number of things such as if other sites are linking to it, the PR level of the sites linking to you. if you have a few high leve pr sites linking to your site it should appear in seach engines within a few days, and your PR will increase when google does its next update, a good read for you is: http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and read the guidelines or your site may not show up in search engines: http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html
