This has to be my quickest flip, under 30 minutes of receiving notification of receiving expired dot com in my GD account I sold it for $800 to an End User! Cost: $19.87!

Great job doing so. Did you already have an end user in mind and saw the name fit before purchase, sell the name to the end user before purchase, contact end users over 30 minutes or did one happen to just fall in your lap?

I find End Users before investing into an expired dot com. Research helps me hand pick the best expired domain names before purchase and boost my odds of flipping it with in the first 7 days. Most domains that don't sell with in the first 7 days either expire and drop or sell for amounts that most would avoid. I rather sell a domain name for $1 dollar than let it drop, every dollar adds up!

Ok, that sounds better than just gloating. :)

It's always important to either research or have background knowledge in any item before investing... in domains or anything.

I invested a lot in AMD because background knowledge in that they bought ATI and had chips in the XBox and Wii, which would eventually undergo an upgrade eventually. However, the next 2 or so days it went from $3.94 and just plummeted to about a dollar (when I almost hopped ship, cause 1/4th is better than $0 when and if they filed bankruptcy) because of a bad financial report/CEO turnover. Glad I didn't, they're sitting above $4 now with a nice increasing trend and 2 products using their technology now. :)

Forecasting was unpredictable in this event, but in domaining it can be applied with ratios of end users and the name at hand and can always be put through $1 auctions to possibly get pennies on the dollar back before a drop.

I just defeated my own record, purchased an expired dot com 2 weeks ago for $758.67 and sold it with in 5 minutes today for $4500 USD. I emailed a list of Attorney's and one replied back and said SOLD! I only received the name an hour ago and was surprised how fast the response time was from the Law Firm I contacted.

I received two additional offers with in the first 30 minutes ($1000 and $2000).

FYI domain name was transferred to my account today.

Sorry for the late reply but huge props.

Do you mind if I ask how you got an email list of lawyers together in 5 minutes?

Sold a name yesterday with in 40 minutes of owning it. I always do my homework, your risk is reduced when you find End Users before purchase! I email End Users the second I receive the names!

Do you use a B2B directory with SIC codes to find your emails (as they are in there for registered owners of the company) or fill out a custom form on their website or email them if one is not provided but their email is?

SIC code Database from AK (random selection for law firm):
Schlereth, Ernest M[email protected]8111541110ErnestSchlerethManager225 E Fireweed Ln # 301AnchorageAK99503ANCHORAGE9.07E+090ernieattorney.com10000001Offices of LawyersLegal Services

I.E. [email protected] is registered with Alaska, but on the website it says contact [email protected].

CureCancer...

Curious as to the language you used in the offer letter you send to the attorneys. Do you mind sharing? I have several I would like to market and I'm guessing your letter was pretty strong to get that solid and fast of a response.

Best,

Scott

The truth of the matter is that I keep it simple, I use to stress this when I had my blog active.

Keep your emails simple. Price is all they want to see! Telling them the name is 10+ years older is a bonus by including a line for creation date also seems to help! I only get into more details about the benefits of owning a perfect match dot com after they reply back with the words "No Thanks". I've noticed a 35-40% success rate in selling the names to individuals who at first showed no interest.

Anyways I can type all night, hope this helps! Simplicity goes far in many things!

That means that - once the sale goes through - you're buying bottles during NamesCon, right? :D Hope to see you in Vegas.

Dude, it's Friday - the best day to call upper management executives and sell them domains for millions. Make it happen!
