A couple of months back, someone in this forum had the bright idea of opening a resale site for members' unwanted domains that was based around declining values as expiry dates neared. As far as I know, it remained an idea that was very well received by others here, but was never actually implemented. (Tell me if I'm wrong.)

Anyway, maybe someone over at RegisterFly was listening. For sure, their "Domain Marketplace" has opened finally -- http://www.registerfly.com/market/index.php -- and appears to operate on that same interesting principle.

If you sell any domains over there, however, be aware that the buyer's funds go into your RegFly account's ready credit, NOT into your pocket! Oh. and it looks like RegFly take a (small) percentage of the sale price for themselves too. In other words, they've got all the angles covered in their own favor. But it may still be worth checking out.

What say you?

I like it..but whats with all the odd cents ?!

31.42
121.26 etc..

As long as yopu can export your funds if desired then it looks like a nice option for Regfly customers..

Heres the answer to my question..

"We take the total annual sale price you are seeking and break that down to a daily rate. We next take the available registration days for the domain to determine your final sale price. "

bidawinner: I guess the value changes daily as a domain's expiry nears, therefore it stands to reason that any day a domain is worth, say, exactly $10, the next day its value would have declined to $9 and ninety-something cents.

As to your second point, I get the impression that one can't export one's funds.

THe only thing is you want to be careful what you list.. dont list names you want at least say $75 for ...because in 6 months it's only going to bring $32.50 !

So you dont want to list and just forget about it.. it will take "maintennce" on the part of the seller to keep the domain at the price you want.

But then again from a buyers perspective.. you may see a domain that you like listed at $75 but you dont want to pay that.. you probably can get it cheaper by waiting a few months as you KNOW people arent going to maintain there listing as they should...

I really like it !.. already posted 40 domains.. it shows the customer the price AND how much time is listed left on the domain..

very nice..

What is really great is..you dont have do anything but list !.. Someone purchases a name ..it automtically gets pushed in to their account and your account is filled with cash ! :)

Very nice.. now lets see if it gets any results..

Tim told me amonth ago or so they will have a messge board like this up soon also..

Whoa! Here's another plus. You can export their entire domains sales list anytime you want. Click their export request, fill in your email address, and they zap it over to you in an Excel spreadsheet to peruse offline!

What say you?

Very good news.
You can just hit submit without a type-in and see whole listing of
whats available. A great place to sell your domain names.
Thanks for the info. never looked at that!
