Yesterday I wrote a little tool to check the droplist after the dropcatchers had had their pick so I could get a list of just dropped unregistered domains. To my surprise every single domain had been registered.

I checked some obscure domains to see if my tool was working correctly and they had all been registered, many of them to the enom master account.

I guess they'll just delete those with no traffic in a few days time, which now leaves us with 2 drops - the normal drop and the secondary drop once the registrars have filtered the remaining domains for traffic :(

lol, I thought that might be what you meant but I'd already said in the post :)

Many were registered to the enom master account, and the ones that weren't were registered to small registrars which I believe catch drops for enom.

All names dropping are caught.

The ones not caught by Pool, Snap, Enom, Godaddy, etc. are captured by
three different registrars.

They test it for traffic. "Registrar A" will drop the ones they don't want.

The irony is that "Registrar B" will IMMEDIATELY (within minutes) pick it up and test it.

Then, he drops the ones he doesn't want and "Registrar C" will follow the same
pattern.

So, a name that dropped on 8-1 might not get back to Verisign's cemetery until 8-14.

I have been monitoring this for the past two months.

I have often thought about posting the names that are really terrible and have people
create artificial traffic so these data mining registrars are stuck with some dogs.

But, I decided to not meddle with their business practices.

They don`t seem to have good scripts
