I have a decent name and I was checking stats today. It gets about 200 requests a day. No site, just an index. perhaps a former No idea where that traffic is coming but from just this info what do you think? Thats some decent traffic.

Because I want feed back based solely on those traffic numbers.

the only feedback i can say is that that is a nice amount of traffic. i can't say anything about how valuable that traffic is, or how reliable it will be, or how valuable the domain is.

You have no stats program?

You should be able to see for yourself where the traffic is coming from.

200 requests or unique visitors? I dont see it as a big number either way whatever domain it is. I get 5k uniques per month on DP (also just an index page) and i consider that nothing, so 200 hits is a bit low.

I'm trying to hide anything the name is demspy.com

Why would you have only an idex on a page with that kinda of traffic?

I wanted feed back on the traffic, not the quality of the name. I said what I wanted and even explained why I did not want to give the name.

Damn guys

not search figures, hits. Traffic to my site. From my control panel, from traffic to my site, the only thing that really matters!

guys it really doesn't matter what overture or yahoo says, its traffic. Now of course name quality, yaoo search, all that matters. But bottomline is all that matters is how many people show up to you site, and they do what ever gets to cash.

This forum seems more and more like a waste of time. No time to expand on all my thoughts. I try to give feed back where I can and ask for feedback in return. This is the site for DN and the owners do a pretty damn good job considering volume. But over all there are too many people here that are just clueless about everything for me to continue to post here.

I asked for advice about traffic, nothing else. I thought 200 views a day was pretty decent of a site that doesn't exist was decent. any site that pisses me off this bad I shouldn't visit.

I know I come off like a complete jerk here. That is not my nature or my intent, I've just had enough. Greg does a good job and there are members here that ..... get it, many obviously don't. I get to much crap to continue to post here. For every decent response I get, I get several smartass replies. No thanks.

keshe .. the biggest problem you have is the way you ask questions. First thing .. in your control panel .. tell us how many "uniques" a day it gets. Second, yes the "name" does matter. Third ... where the traffic is coming from is important and fourth, what they are looking for IS also very important.

So get off the high horse ...

demspy.com

You have yet to provide that the name means anything.
It doesn't. The search result are pathetic and the name means nothing...no abbrev, acronym or anything.

As far as Yahoo goes that in itself is another story.

I wish you well and I hope great things happen for you.

Guess you'd better pick-up your Poke-man cards and go home.

Cheers!

Instead of complaining about members responses, how about you provide more information.

Obviously your concerned about what the traffic is worth, so how about posting what kind of traffic your getting. 200 uniques? 200 page views? 200 hits?. Where is the traffic from? Japan? China? Korea? USA? Canada? Germany? etc..?. Are they getting to your site by search engines? If so, from what keywords?. Are there sites linking to your domain?, what kind of sites?.

Traffic means nothing unless you know what kind of traffic it is. If someone used it to post illegal software and people are hitting it to try to find that, it does a real owner no good, as one of many examples.

Here's a novel concept: Traffic by itself is BAD, unless you plan on posting a popup spawing farm. Unless the people wnat to be at the tname, and use it to buy stuff, or so forth, traffic is just a drain on your resources.

So, no, we can't appraise a name based upon traffic requests alone.

anyone who is annoyed by their excess traffic can certainly redirect it to one of my PPC sites, I don't mind the drain on my bandwidth.
