I live in Europe (sweden), and I am thinking of putting up a registering site.

Can I do this as a reseller with enom? I have their 8.95 account

Icehole,

I'll back you up, just like the old days. Just in case, you're not doing any work for wireless, check www.wirelesscon.com (www.wardriving.info) to get update.

Cheers and good luck to you.

I would guess you can resell in any country you want as long as it is in the scope of your contract with enom.

Heja Sverige!

you have to ways to market your domain business, via PDQ ($100 /yr from enom) or using API. If you know how to program in PHP I suggest using the API...

Of course you can resell in Sweden, but if you want to do it legally as a business you have to add VAT (moms) which is 25%.

If I as a privat person wants to buy a domain I would choose an American or other reseller who doesn't add VAT.

but if I put up a page on an American server, but written in swedish, that doesn't make it Swedish.
So I can sell from there right?

And, yes I know how to a program PHP, but know nothing about their "API".

Is there any onlone guide?

Well, with the laws we have in Sweden, you are responsible to pay tax whatever you do and wherever you have your business as long as you live in Sweden.

There are however a hugh difference between theory and real life so Good Luck with your business...

yeah, well of course I would pay the taxes here in Sweden, but say I offer regs for 99 kronor (11.02 dollars), they would still only have to pay 99 kronor right?

But when I get my (fat :) ) paycheck in the end of the month I have to deduct the 25% right?

NO, If you are selling domains for 11 dollars each, you are actually selling them for 8.80 + VAT. Your purchasing price is 8.95 so all money from your paycheck plus some of your savings goes to the taxman.

I suggest you get another, less expensive hobby

PS.
The VAT is a tax on the selling price and is collected by the business owner/company . You can read more about it on http://www.rsv.se

I'm not sure how it works in Sweden, but I *think* in the UK you don't have to pay vat unless your revenue exceeds x thousand pounds a year. Maybe in Sweden you have to pay vat whatever your revenue though, I'm not sure.

Is there any onlone guide?

Log into your reseller's account, click the "resellers" link on the menu,
then the API info link and at the top of the page is a link to asp, php and perl example scripts.

Click the API docs link and you can download the API manual as a pdf.

You also need to set up a test account to test the api functions, by clicking on the "Test Account" :) link and following the instructions there.

Hope that helps,

Sam

I would suggest going for $6.95 account before selling domains legally (with VAT). Additionally, are you required to register a company before conducting business?

Anyway, start selling without paying VAT and keep all profits :swg:

It is better to have your company as registered business, this won't cost you much for application of name and other misc cost.

You gain trust from your prospective clients.
