You can't stop an auction with bids? What happened?

The auction was cancelled because I received an offer I couldn’t refuse. The unofficial offer of $300 was made in the appraisals thread prior to the name being offered for sale. I used $300 as the starting bid because I new had someone willing to pay $300 for the name.

So it was not really an auction - it was make an offer, I will take what price I want.

And that is fine - but don't call it an auction then...

Auctions can have reserves or buy it now prices. :-D A little more explanation upfront could have helped.
