Unbelievable.

Where in the hell is the security?

A man from the back of the room walked up into the front of the room and pulled a plate full of shaving cream out from a bag and smashed into Rupert Murdoch's face.

I can not believe that this person was even allowed in to the room. He had on military fatigues and a flannel shirt and carrying a bag. Why was he not searched before entering this room? He clearly stood out from all the other people wearing suits.

UK/London police - where in the hell were they?

Very embarrassing for the police to even allow something like this happen in a high level hearing like this.

Not surprising, a lot of people are really p*ssed off at him over there.

The Murdochs are full of apologies now, but all they care about is damage control to their company and share price.

Actually, they are full of "I don't know", "I had no idea that was going on", and "I am not responsible".

This was nothing more than them showing up to a one day hearing and sticking to their playbook of not taking or accepting responsibility for what happened.

Very deplorable and pathetic.

The pie incident may have inadvertently worked in the Murdochs' favor (especially in light of the MPs' reaction to his wife's badass moves) in generating sympathy more than showing how hated they are.

If it is a sympathy, it will be short lived.

His wife did respond like a trained ninja assassin - she smacked the shlt out of him.

just seen this

i would normally say anything done to a guy in his 80s is disgusting
i'll make an exception for murdoch
if murdoch can waltz around the world, hack dead kids phones etc. so he can take a shaving pie in the face me thinks

agreed worrying security allowed to happen. not easiest thing to carry
and it 'could' have been chemicals, anything! thankfully it wasn't and i would like to hope they would have found anything like that on searches
however luckily, it is Britain and wasn't a bomb, in true Benny Hill style he was told he was a 'naughty Billionaire' and had a shaving foam pie in face lol

it wouldn't happen in the U.S , he would have been shot or tasered at the least. luckily we're not there

shame his social climbing biatch of a wife didn't get one too. scum family, the lot of them

cameraman needs sacking for not capturing it lol.
the 'outrageous' comment at end made me chuckle from some stuck up female mp

One fact that came out makes one think that perhaps they didn't know every detail - the News Of The World accounts for less than 1% of the Murdoch empire...if he did know everything that happens there, he wouldn't really be doing his job.

It directly employed less than 300 people out of a total workforce for the empire of 53,000.

I'm not sticking up for them...those figures just made me think though.

office juniors don't sign cheques for xxx,xxx and xx,xxx though
in fact even if you want a quid to get a packet of hobnobs from across the street for the office no doubt it would be at least an office manager to sign off petty cash!
minimum coulson and brooks knew for a fact
almost certainly james murdoch too
rupert, who knows. zero will stick on him personally i expect
anyway, he can get banned from things in UK, but he is an American citizen so leave it to the U.S inquiry hopefully to delve their side of pond too

makes me think it certainly isn't just notw that was doing hacking
we already have heard sun was doing doing it , allegedly
the times etc are all in same building anyway i think too

no doubt all his rags were up to no good, including fox
time will tell
hope the U.S have the stomach for the investigation and have a few honest men left ready to investigate thoroughly in gov.

Plus, as he pointed out early on, he was in the business of investigative reporting.

And one bloke who was offering commentary mentioned that every PM in the UK had to get the blessing of Murdoch to run for office.

And when that person one, Murdoch would be seen entering 10 Downing Street through the back door, just like a rat.

Love that colorful commentary.

But, lets take a look at what is going on here in the USA. FOX (aka Murdoch) did not disclose that they had donated over 1M$ to the RNC and an additional sum over $1M to the GOP Governors committees. It was other networks that broke the story rather than the very rats themselves.

---------- Post added at 06:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:06 PM ----------

Continuing on with the Murdoch mess, Jude Law is claiming that his personal phone was hacked while he was here in the US by NOTW. If this is true, and it did happen on US soil, Murdoch might be well advised to seek police custody for he and his son.

Plus, all his moves and whereabouts were being reported by the NOTW.

Very bad. He's in his 80s and it could have been a lot worse than shaving foam. Very poor security.

Not surprising, a lot of people are really p*ssed off at him over there.
The media here are reporting on it 24/7 (is really bugging me now; we and the World have bigger problems!), although surprisingly not too many people are talking about it. There's a general annoyance, however I don't know of anyone who's majorly pissed over the whole scandal (PRED aside ). As I say, barely anyone is speaking about it - apart from the media and MPs, that is.
