I think some consideration should be given to the "no posting in sales thread" rule.

This guy "Inspired1" currently has a sales thread going.

I have had conversations with 4 individuals who claim tohave been scammed by him, each time for thousands of dollars. Either the revenue goes away immediately or they receive a C&D letter within weeks of buying the domain. One verified with the lawyers that yes, they had sent out previous C&D letters on that same domain.

So if I post in the sales thread to warn other of a scam, I would receive a violation notice from what I understand. Maybe I am wrong about that? Just seems that as an open forum, it should not just be "buyer beware".

I have closed the threads and used banned cause of like few complaints of fake traffic names and selling names for which he has received C&D.

Thanks Scorpio ... as always the only Mod here that seems to understand .

------------------

But Duckinla is right ... how can we be expected to make purchases here , if we are breaking rules by asking legit questions about the domain for sale ... i dont usually intent to thread bash etc , but there are times when I ask a serious question/post comment , in the public interest that it should be allowed .

Stupid post are just that ... stupid !
but legit posts should be allowed , and mods should be able to decipher the crap from the genuine .
if someone posts crap on a sales thread , warn them.
but as such genuine posts should be allowed ..

NO COMMENTS IN SALES means comments like great name or why u price your name so high. or like.

Valid questions in sales are always welcomed if you have can backup what you have to say or ask. or if they r valid questions about the sale.

As Adam has said previously , let me quote him again.

If the user does not respond the way you want, go ahead and post the facts in the people to avoid section. Make sure if you post about another dnf member that you can back it up. .

You can post about it on forum and also post in area51 for admins/mods to see.

also note admins /mods cant be everywhere , so we need users to report posts which they think r not right.

Hi
As scorpio stated, we don't remove comments that show valid interest in purchasing the domain for sale.

There are some who post things like "I wouldn't sell this name so low" or "you paid $$$ last week and now you're asking $$$$ for it"

We would as stated before, prefer members to report issues or suspicions of fraud to staff.

Thanks

Thanks guys, look like Scorpio made quick work of that scammer. So if someone where to post "i got scammed by this guy" or things along those lines, mods would probably not give an infraction to the poster?

Right if u have sufficient proof for the same. even better to post it in discussion area then sales thread. Usually the guy who scammed u would be banned if proven.

great Inspired1 is finally banned.

1 of the problems with posting about scammers is then they leave you negative feedback.

maybe there should be a way of getting positive feedbaqck from moderators for helping the community.

Feedback is only for use when u do trade with someone. If negative feedback you have received is not right , u can ask admin to investigate it and if found wrong it will be removed.

btw i removed the one u have received.
