What a bunch of crap. The Salvation Army is one of the best charities in the world. During WW2 they provided food and cigs to my grandfather and many others for free!!! Very disrespectful.:mad2:

Unreal... the majority of people would never support this kind of crap, it's almost always some greasy sh!tbag lawyer with an inferiority complex behind it. Someone should throw a handful of pennies through his window at 3:00 am.

But rarely-enforced laws regulating public collections are now being used by some local councils to limit their work,
Source? Verifying details?? Which Councils??¿

To me it sounds like an internal policy that's been formulated by their own people, or a "consultant".

I also find it rubbish to believe anyone would be so ignorant as to believe, or tell another person, that rattling a tin full of money could be offensive to anyone on the basis of religion.

The only thing that seems even mildly logical or realistic here is the intimidation factor. I don't know what it's like in the US or the UK, but down under, people collecting for charities are usually outworkers that get a 7-15% commission of what they raise, so they do apply pressure.

The trouble with being offended is someone always is and really it is all getting rather boorish and tiresome. It seems high time that all those who call so loudly for tolerance actually practice it.

What ever happened to live and let live?

What ever happen to ringing a bell, that what I always seen them doing out side of stores. No matter what they do just being there some people will have a problem with, and it's a shame they really need the funds this time of year.

Wasn't catchy enough for Paul McCartney, so now baby boomers, the policy makers everywhere, insist on live and let die.
