So my domain droped this morning. Snapnames got it for me which made me very happy, this is not a valuable domain name, and I was thrilled. I went to their payment center, and added $60 to my account to cover the cost of grabbing the domain. I entered the last of my CC information, and I got a flash animation telling me to "please wait." 30 minutes later I've had enough so I launch a new browser on a new machine and log into my account. All the information about the domain is gone, as far as I can tell, it's never been in my account. I loged onto my bank and there is a charge pending for the $60 so I don't know what's going on.

I checked, and the domain is still listed as available. I called their tech support, but it just rings through to a voice message that wants me to leave my name and number and they will call me back within one buisness day. I'm going to call tomorow first thing but this is not leaving a good impression with me.

I think before coming to any conclusions you should first call their support to hear what they have to say. Otherwise the case sounds strange in my opinion--double charge.
good luck,

I do not think that they would steal $60 from you on purpose.

I've been working a lot with snapnames, they are very serious. I bought a domain name for 3.434$ with them without problems.

I've bought a few domains without problems too. Have you looked in the history part of the site which tells you about previous purchases? Whenever domains are acquired for you or the auction ends the names disappear from the account page but they remain on the history page

I'm positive Snapnames did not screw you.

Your $ 60. is peanuts to them.

Have you comunicated with Snapnames yet?

Since, you are smearing their name because they didn't answer the phone
at midnight (their time), have you gotten it resolved?

I'm positive Nelson and Kjel would not jeopardize their reputation for $ 60.
Maybe, $ 60 million. ???

Never, ever ask what Nelson will do for $60.

Lifix, if this isn't yet resolved please email me at kjel (at) snapnames.com and we'll get things squared away.

No ways are they ripping you off... I've had nothing but good things with snapnames...

For example... I had been chasing talkhost.com for a very long time.. It finally dropped, and I was in the auction when it did drop.... Snapnames did win it for me, and I won the auction for it at 4 figures...

At the time I could not afford to pay the 4 figure amount it cost me, but I continued to bid anyway, and I eventually won the bid..

After winning the bid I contacted snapnames to tell them that the domain was very important to me, but I could not afford to pay what it cost to win the domain...

Guess what... snapnames allowed me to keep the domain and gave me time to pay the winning bid... Took me several months to come up with the cash but snapnames held true to their word and gave me the domain afterwards...
I payed them several hundred per month until I had payed off the bid amount... That is a fantastic service.... How many other drop services would even consider doing that????

Completely true..

I've not used snapnames since, but only because I've not chased any domains I really wanted..

but in my experience, customer service is second to none at snapnames..

Lifix,
I had a similar experience at snapnames.com today actually...The name I won disappeared for about 1/2 hour. I figured it was just a glitch or something...which it was. The name appeared in my history after about a 1/2 hour...so just be patient...they will take care of it.

You think when you spend 3k+ for a domain name from them that they are not going to be very serious?

One "I will complain where everybody can read it" post by the thread starter, no further information if the so-called problem was solved...That´s something I really dislike.
