when i see stuff like this with bids- i contact the bidders who have placed bids directly, and give them the heads up- then if they still decide to bid that is up to them- but i have found most are usually thankful for the information :)

Ebay now hides the identity of bidders for auctions that one does not participate in.

ebay is officially the worst place to buy domains from. If you must buy from ebay, you should only buy from sellers you already know(preferably DNF members). Acting otherwise is pushing your luck

I pushed my luck and got Acro.net :D
Several others in the past years, e.g. Butter.net, Ann.net - the key is to establish contact with the seller via phone based on the WHOIS info.

Technically no, the sellers were not "domainers".

yeah that sucks. i messaged the guy and he swears it's legit. what a shame. like acro says, you cannot even contact the bidders. i am sure someone will get burned, hopefully it won't be anybody here.

highest bid was 255$ and reserve wasnt met.

You can add the seller to your watchlist and bid early in an auction to get a view on bidders maybe. A complaint of false information to ebays BS dept will usually get looked and and if detailed info is there, they will act on it quickly.

I had a mini-conversation with the person in private (via eBay messages) and asked for something to deny the obvious fact that it is a redirect. He threatened to sue me for slander. :D:D:D

I did what yall wanted to do and reported him to ebay for selling faulty stuff. I explained he may not know it is faulty. (Yeah right, he knows) I am not 100% mean, but I don't want to see anyone scammed.
