Will ICANN permits the sale of the .SEARCH TLD on June 13th?

I don't see any fair way to assign this extension if Google.com, Bing.com, and Yahoo.com all apply for

this TLD at the same time. Is there something in the ICANN docs that prevent generic TLD's

similar to .SEARCH (say .INSURANCE) from being released? Does anyone know how the selection

process works?

Why wouldn't they? ICANN gets the $$$. That's what this whole thing is about. From what I have read so far, there would be an auction if there is more than 1 party interested in a tld.

auction is the only fair way of doing it. keep in mind - just because there are going to be over 1,000 new extensions...doesn't mean anyone will use them. The general public barely use or even know about the available ones now.

Many of the TLD's ICANN put out there were quite useless.

But from a users perspective, think about how easy it will be to type simply . s e a r c h (no a 2nd level name)

Technically . s e a r c h (only) should resolve directly to the owner of the TLD and they will display

ads and products for sale. Now If the search site is as good or better than the big three, well who knows what will happen?

ZUCK should buy this TLD.
