Iam using Sedo DNS servers for my domain: ns1.sedoparking.com, ns2.sedoparking.com

Domain has traffic on subdomains like:
host.domain.com
ww2.domain.com

Sedo won't display the page. They are missing out on a lot of traffic.

So better use your own DNS.

I agree. Is there anyway Sedo can pick up the sub domain traffic?

Hello all,

We do not trade in the sub-level (or second level) domain market.
Sub-domains are merely parts of the of their main domain (i.e. you.us.com is a part of www.us.com) - and officially (at least according to Whois database), these sub-domains are owned by the parent domain.
We have no way of tracking whether the owner of the parent domain is also the owner of the subdomain.
Take for example, Yahoo.com.
Yahoo offers many services under their main site, including email.
The URL for email at Yahoo is mail.yahoo.com.
This is still owned by yahoo, but is merely another "sub" category - as your names are sub-categories of us and eu.com.

Depending on your contract with company you purchased the names from, you may or may not have the right to sell your names.

Good answer, but for another question. Nobody wants to sell subdomains.
We want the same parking page displayed for:
domain.com
www.domain.com
www.domain.com/contact.htm
www.domain.com/html/
host.domain.com
ww2.domain.com
etc.. etc..

Hello again,

You have to list a domain for sale first in order to park it with us.
All domains must be "added" or "listed" in our database to upload as parked.

The only way we allow this is to list domains for sale with us.
Subdomains are not allowed to be listed for sale on the database.
Therefore, subdomains cannot be parked with us.

Nora you don't seem to understand.
He doesn't want to park the subdomains. Subdomains are part of the domain he has parked.
So it is logical that he wants to utilize all the traffic directed to the subdomains of the previously developed website.
He just wants to make sure that if someone types www.domain.com/dfsdfrtewtre he/she will be redirected to www.domain.com.

I guess probably Nora misunderstand.

Anton has an expired traffic domain. This expired traffic domain has subdomains that have traffic. He uses sedo dns to park this domain. And using this method, it wont catch all the traffic from the subdomain.

He is not trying to sell or park the subdomain. He want to catch all the traffic from the subdomains of this expired domain.

Currently, sedo only catches all traffic from directory, not subdomain.

So he meant, if sedo can catch the subdomain traffic, it will be nice. Which most of us would like this to happen.

I know www.fabulous.com does, not sure about all the others but I would assume they do as well since their main focus is catching and converting all of the traffic while sedo's number one priority is to sell the domain, the ppc landing page is just a bonus... some extra revenue on the side.

Update:

I followed my own suggestion: using my own dns server to catch the traffic on subdomains. Now sedo's parking page was displayed on host.domain.com.

One problem: their 404 did not work anymore. So no parking page was diplayed on:

host.domain.com/hop.html

But also no parking page on:

www.domain.com/hop.html
domain.com/hop.html

Who told you life is easy?

If you use Linux on Apache webserver, the following config statement will solve your problem.
ErrorDocument 400 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 403 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 404 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 405 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 406 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 407 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 408 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 409 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 410 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 411 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 412 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 413 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 414 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 415 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 416 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 417 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 500 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 501 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 502 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 503 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 504 "http://domain.com/"
ErrorDocument 505 "http://domain.com/"

Sedo is not allowed to use the subdomain traffic[I don't know why?]
But the following method can solve your subdomain name problem.

1.At named config file add on the wildcard *(almost at /etc/named.conf)
Like this ===) *.domain.com. IN A xx.xx.xx.xx
2. At apache config file add the statement.(almost at /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf)
ServerAlias domain.com *.domain.com

Last!! I believe the subdomain traffic is also the domain name traffic.
If I setup a forum at forum.domain.com, who can say the forum.domain.com is not its traffic!
If subdomain traffic is not its traffic, I think the domain.com/xxx content is not traffic, too.
Does somebody agree?! Sedo agree?!

You can see the parking industry is still in its infancy. All kind of stupid problems pop up, much like hosting in the early days. How often did I switch hosting companies? Now I am for years with the same provider.

One recommendation: test, test, test. You will have to switch parking services frequently. I guess the differences between parking companies are still huge.

Basically I agree with you.
But I am depending on the hit rate fee from SEDO, it is my best income.
So I need SEDO to agree it, than I just can do it.
Because who pay me who is my boss.

I get $0.05 for 'diabetes' traffic on Sedo. Overtures bidtool gives $2.00 - $3.00. Are you sure Sedo's are the highest rates?

It is my first time to put my domain name parking at SEDO.
Anyway thanks for your advice.
I believe SEDO can pay me the parking revenue, because my friends had been got it recently.
I believe my friends, so I believe SEDO.
I am a junior student at [Domain Name Market].
If SEDO can pay revenue to me, I really satisfy.
This is the first income at internet that I even earn it.
Thank you again.
